What Californians Should Know Before Election Day

By mailing ballots to all registered, active voters, the state has made participation more convenient.

By now, you should have received your ballot in the mail.

Any polling site, voting centre, county elections office, or official ballot drop box will accept your ballot.

The polls close at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, the last day to vote or drop off your ballot.

In local elections, a candidate can win outright if he or she receives a majority of the votes.

Voters in San Francisco, for example, will be asked whether they want to recall District Attorney Chesa Boudin.

Vice President Kamala Harris' term expires in January, and then again for the full six-year term that begins after that.
